A Holiday Maternity Session at Franklin Park Conservatory

A gorgeous momma in gorgeous dresses surrounded by amazing greenery.. This session was amazing from start to finish! We started inside Franklin Park Conservatory and then braved the cold winter air outside for about 5 minutes right as the sun went down.

My beautiful friend is carrying two little miracles and we could not be happier for her and her family. She really is glowing.

Lisa- thank you so much for being so amazing and gorgeous! We all cannot wait to meet these babies!

A Winter Family Session in a Breathtaking Ohio Pine Forest

When Megan and I were planning her session, she sent me some location inspiration photos that she loved that were in a pine forest. I was not sure if I would be able to find a pine forest near Columbus, Ohio but decided I would sure do my best to find one! Thanks to instagram location tags and hashtags, I was able to find a gorgeous pine forest in Canal Winchester that was a part of Walnut Woods Metropark.

After a really long walk (in the freezing cold!), we were all SO excited when we saw the HUGE pine trees! It really was a breathtaking scene that you don't see too often here in Ohio. The scenic trees and wooded areas that were donning winter's plume were perfect for this family session.

Thank you, Megan and Christopher for trusting my vision and braving the cold with me! I loved meeting your little guy and getting my baby cuddles in!

Family Sessions at Alum Polaris LLC Tree Farm | Columbus Ohio Photographer

It was a great month at the tree farm for holiday sessions! This place truly is beautiful and I have really enjoyed seeing everyone and also meeting new families! I also would like to give a huge thank you to the owners of the tree farm for allowing us to come to your beautiful property!

And now I need to get our tree up and Christmas decor out of the basement.. Happy Holidays, Everyone!

Gratitude During the Holiday Season | Columbus Ohio Photographer - Erika Venci Photography

Columbus-Ohio-Family-Photographer-Erika-Venci-Photography

I have a pumpkin cheesecake in the oven, a dog that needs a bath, and packing to do for our Thanksgiving trip! During the busy holiday season, sometimes it is hard to pause and practice gratitude. In this case, I am thankful my son gave me enough peace to bake, thankful Leo is such a good dog, thankful for all of the endless little boy clothes I need to pack, and thankful to have family to be visiting for the holidays.

You may have heard before that I need tv shows or music playing while I am working late at night to help me focus. Lately, this has included many YouTube videos of interviews with Maya Angelou by Oprah and others. If you are looking for inspiration, look these videos up and start there.

When you practice gratitude every day, it is amazing how much everything changes. A dear friend of mine, who is also a photographer also started on this journey with me a few weeks ago. Drowning in busy season and trying to figure out how we can improve our businesses for next year, we set goals for ourselves and talked about how important it is to have a positive state of mind and practice gratitude.

Within days of consciously changing our mindsets, we were amazed at all of the amazing things that started happening for ourselves and our businesses.. the power of your state of mind is truly amazing. I realized that along with my hard work and dedication, changing my frame of mind to see the positives and be thankful in all situations, good and bad, was helping me to be successful in my business and in my personal life.

So this holiday season, I challenge you.. to see the glass half full. Be thankful for what you have been blessed with.. even if it does not seem like you can find anything in that moment to be thankful for, there is always something.

Love,

Erika
